   In the parishes of St. James Garlickhithe and St. Michael Paternoster Royal.
   Earliest mention: 1317-18 (Ct. H.W. I. 275).
   In a London Inq. p.m. 32 H. VIII. it is described as "Medelane alias Maydenlane" in the parish of St. Michael Paternoster (I. p.109).
